The bestest website in the world (apart from this blog, obviously, and even more obviously I’m totally not exaggerating here) celebrated its ninth year of existence last week: fm5. The birthday was celebrated with a huge and quite excessive party plus musicawesomeness provided by The Helmut Bergers, Pilots. and Cherry Sunkist, an absolutely delicious punsch and a birthday cake filled with 5 million calories – provided by yours truly.

This time, I made two cakes and put them together with just some straws and a plate made of cupboard. Next time, I’m gonna go for five layers!

Happy birthday again, my dear fm5 – stay as awesome and interesting as you are.

This will probably be the only baking-related post you’ll ever get to read on this blog. Because to be honest: I dislike baking and cooking. I suck at it, I can only go by recipes cause I have no understanding about ingredients and their amound, I find it a waste of time to stand in the kitchen for an hour when you then eat it in five minutes. I’m more of the salad & soup & sandwich or take-away kinda girl, and I have the luck to always have had boyfriends who enjoyed cooking way more than I do.
However, I do make exceptions to my non-baking rule, but only for very special occasions. And if I do so, then also the result has to be special – for example, there was a heart-shaped cake and a ice hockey field cake. Yesterday, my friend from work and I made a guitar cake for the 20(+10)th birthday of a friend. I’m not gonna give you any details on the recipe, because basically we just made a simple biscuit dough, filled it with raspberry cream and decorated it with chocolate icing and marshmallows, soletti and smarties. If you ever want to make a cake like this and think you could use some tips then I’ll of course be happy to help.
So, enough with the words, here’s the cake!
